Orphan Train
Author
Christina Baker Kline
Review
This book was so interesting and moving for it described a forgotten part of America's history between 1854 and 1929, when orphan trains regularly carried abandoned children from the east coast cities to the farmlands of the Midwest.
It tells the story of one particular girl, Vivian. It also tells the story of a troubled teenager, Molly, and how their friendship heals both of their pasts.  Click here to see if this book is in our catalog!

Very enjoyable! Listened to book and the southern accents truly enhanced this book. The women were sassy and the main characters brother was hysterical. Looking forward to reading Franks next book.  Click here to see if this book is in our catalog!

Easy Go
Author
Michael Crichton writing as John Lange
Review
Do you enjoy Michael Crichton's thrillers, like Jurassic Park and Prey? When Crichton was a medical student he wrote eight "Hard Case" crime novels to finance his education, and they have just been republished for those who crave more of Crichton.
These novels reveal how Crichton started to develop his successful thriller style. They're tightly plotted, end with interesting twists and are quick reads. You might want to carry another book along with you to cover up the politically-incorrect images of women in bathing suits which appear on many of the covers.
Each of the eight has a different approach -- one is scfi, one a heist, for example.
In Easy Go, an Egyptologist examining some old scrolls finds some new information and decides to turn to crime to locate and plunder an archaeological site.  Click here to see if this book is in our catalog!
