Welcome!
Welcome to One World, Many Stories: Kids Summer Reading 2011! This program is for children from birth to entering Grade 5.
Children from babies to those entering fifth grade are invited to participate in One World, Many Stories, a Summer Reading Club that celebrates cultures across the globe. Kids can either read themselves or be read to. Either way, they’ll collect toys, coupons, and other prizes, and also earn tickets for an end-of-summer raffle! If that isn’t incentive enough, there’s a pool party in August too, which is open to children who meet their reading goals.
What is the reading goal? This year each child can pick their own reading goal for the program. We recommend at least 400 minutes of reading for the entire 8 weeks (that's just 50 minutes per week)! We understand that each child has different reading skills and enthusiasm, so you and your child can select a goal this is managable for them. Children are eligible for a prize every 100 minutes they read throughout the course of the program. For each 100 minutes read, children can visit the Green Tree Public Library and earn a small prize and a raffle ticket to use in our summer reading prize drawings. The sky is the limit! The more you read, the more prizes and tickets you can win! Log on as often as you'd like between June 16 -- August 6 to record your minutes and win!
