I read this as a fan of the original band, and wanting to learn more about its formation, the creation of the albums, Slash's relationship with Axl, etc. I was well aware of Slash's involvement with drugs and alcohol, but this book spends a majority of its time on the drugs: how often and where he bought, who he bought from, where he hid them, how he tried (or didn't try) to hide it from his friends and family. The parts I wanted to learn about are in there, certainly, but with the book clocking in at almost 500 pages, it was a tough slog. Montgomery County-Norristown Public Library Card Catalog
