Reviews Review: Sacrifice by S.J.Bolton. I read this book because of the Shetland Islands setting as I hope to travel there one day. It was interesting and integral to the story, but the mystery storyline left a bit to be desired. THe premise of a modern murder based on ancient folklore mystery was intriguing for awhile, and the characters seemed up to the task, however it fell a bit short for me. If you don't mind the story being too far-fetched, the characters are worth another book if the author can bring along a storyline to do them justice....Check this Book Out Today!!!! Review: Steering by Starlight: Finding your right life by Martha Beck. She is very funny and has excellent examples to explain her points. Nice read and it helps bring together some of the latest ideas about thinking through your life choices. Good book....Check this Book Out Today!!!! Review: A Wallflower Christmas by Lisa Kleypas A fun and easy book to read. It is a series-so you can read about a few of the characters in other books. It is about unlikely girls getting the man of their dreams. This book matched a man from America and a women from London. Cultural differences of the times were shown-which was interesting (i.e., handshakes)....Check this Book Out Today!!!! Review: Finding Nouf by Zoe Ferraris, Fiction, Excellent mystery set in Saudi Arabia - Nouf is a 16 year old girl who goes missing, and ends up having drowned in the desert. This sets up an intriguing mystery story itself, however I found just as compelling the story of trying to solve a mystery in a closed society such as Saudi Arabia. Nice writing and a good summer read. Enjoy!...Check this Book Out Today!!!! Review: For Your Eyes Only - Five secret exploits of the fabulous James Bond by Ian Fleming. Quite fun - excellent read. Five short stories with the James Bond character, not all of them spy stuff but engaging nonetheless. I caught onto this from an interview with Daniel Craig about the Quantum of Solace movie and find that the title of the movie, but no other elements, come from this book. Other titles and story elements from this book have made their way into movies, so it was like a treasure hunt. I'm so glad that the library system has this book since I would probably never find a 1960's book otherwise. Enjoy the read!...Check this Book Out Today!!!! Review: The Women by T.C.Boyle I admit that I didn't like this book very much, I put it down several times before finally completing it - it could have been that I have a problem with FLWright's character but I also think that this book did not do the women justice. After reading I know *what* the women did but no more idea of the *why* or inner thinking of them. The book Loving Frank was much better. See what you think....Check this Book Out Today!!!! Review: Soldier's Son by Ben W. McClelland
Good story with a local connection. The author reviews his life and family history revolving around the facts and stories of the author's father having been killed in the Battle of the Bulge in WWI and its effect on the family and him. The family grew up in Masontown PA and a cousin lives in Moon Twp. Nicely written, quick read. Review: Sea Gypsy by Fern Michaels I could predict the ending within the first chapter. An editor finds she has fallen in love with the man whose book she has been editing. She meets him during a visit at home with her father. She doesn't realize it is the author as he writes under another name. An easy read. ...Check this Book Out Today!!!!
